I was approached by the founders of Design BX an online interior design styling service to create the brands visual identity.
I was tasked with designing their logo, defining typography and colour palettes, outlining a photography direction and creating a variety of visual treatments. The outcome was to create a toolkit help kick start their business.
Understanding the problem
Design BX supplied a rich source of background information including their vision, how the service works, mood boards and a handful of personas. After analysing the information and asking questions I explored what was trending and gathered reference material. This became solid foundation to build insights and start ideation.
I explored a range of ideas that played on various aspects of what Design BX is, metaphors that surround the name and wanted to create that was something memorable and timeless. The chosen idea was inspired by Kenya Hara philosophy of “Emptiness”. The isometric blueprint of a box symbolises an empty room full of potential, to be designed for you.
The brand toolkit included brand assets and designs for print and digital. It was created to empower anyone to design for Design BX.
